I'm working on a futuristic piece in which The Life Enrichment Corporation, which has in the 23rd century beat all pandemics and fatal diseases except cancer, holds a rebirth lottery each year in which the soul of the winner, a 90-year-old cancer patient, will be "transferred" to an Executive Sponsor's body, in exchange for ongoing PR about The Corporation. Cancer is "said" by LEC to be the only disease they have not found a cure for, despite their ubiquitous medical research and pharm reach. There's a twist about the Transference and the "training" leading up to it, which involves a reclaiming of the soul for the Sponsor, a Navajo descendent who embraces their creation mythology, and her role with the Enrichment Resistance. If you know how I can reach T.E.D., please let me know. I'd love to work with him or anyone else in the industry on this. I personally would have loved to see some of the classic ghost story writers adapted for the series. Maybe something from Algernon Blackwood, M.R. James, or Sheridan Le Fanu. Would have liked to see more women writers adapted as well, something from Shirley Jackson (like "The Summer People") or Daphne Du Maurier would have been interesting. Short stories (not even from the magizine). I'm thinking of Dark They Were and Golden Eyed, the resurrection of jimber-jaw and the pain addict come to mind.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04928990086697673181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1318310043864039191.post-90421589712971559942019-05-22T12:00:42.602-05:002019-05-22T12:00:42.602-05:00It was certainly a great time to be a genre reader...It was certainly a great time to be a genre reader. Reading through these issues it feels like it was sort of a Golden Age and this issue just reinforced that notion in my mind. Might be a favorite issue so far. Thanks for reading, Jack! I'm going to revise my approach, get together with Brian, and try to write something more in-depth once the series concludes. I didn't want to get caught writing an episode guide for a series which could run five, six seasons on top of what I already have going. Plus, I just wanted to re-focus on the features I was working on before the premier of the new series. Most of the feedback I received was very positive but I just missed the material I was working on before. Should have a look at "No Time Like the Past" up in a week or two. Thanks always for reading. I really appreciate it.

If you just want to read the magazines they are all scanned over at the Internet Archive. I put my collection together at used books stores and comic shops over the years as I'm not much of an online shopper. It took a lot of time but I never paid much for any issue. This issue in particular was a great one and the magazine overall is very high quality. It's a shame it has sort of been forgotten compared to some other genre magazines of the time. That's a real shame. Even if you wanna quit watching you could at least leave them up. I doubt you'd get any serious backlash on that one. Oh well.

I like these magazine overviews - I'd like to read them but I'm not a diehard collector - it seems some are available on Amazon though Vol. 2 No. 5 is going for $87.95 which is pretty ridiculous. A lot of these posts scratch that itch for supernatural/horror art that I didn't know I had.i_just_sithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14267196638089526024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1318310043864039191.post-48305000204013327942019-05-21T18:59:01.194-05:002019-05-21T18:59:01.194-05:00Thanks for this wonderful review of another issue....Thanks for this wonderful review of another issue.
